A new video and website shares new info about Thalidomide survivor Mark Gizewski and his campaign for freedom.

Mark Gizewski needs proper medical care to survive. This proper medical care cannot be given at the NYS prison where Mark is currently serving time. A new parole campaign is under way to help his release, which includes a website, a new movie and an online petition.

“Please help us with the release of Mark Gizewski from NYS prison,” Cheryl L. Kates, Esq. attorney at law says. “He must be released before his life is threatened further by his fragile health. We are requesting that Mark be treated humanely.”

After suffering from the severe birth defects caused by ingestion of the pharmaceutical drug Thalidomide, which his mother took during her pregnancy with Mark, his deformities have left him in constant pain. He remains disabled and confined to a wheelchair due to being refused a prosthetic leg for five years.

FreeMarkG.com describes Mark Gizewski’s plight and offers a link to change.org, where there is an online petition for his release. In addition, a new movie by Deirdre Sinnott, Multiple Injuries, highlights Mark’s case and gives insight to his story while covering the history of Thalidomide.

Guy Tweedy of the British Group “Thalidomide Trust” is leading an international campaign for Mark Gizewski’s immediate release and is joined by many activists. Guy Tweedy and other activists will be attending Criminal Justice Exposed, an international event on September 27, 2014, at 9:30 am-5:00 pm in the Frederick Douglas Resource Center, 36 King Street Rochester, NY. The event is a criminal justice educational conference which will have several speakers in hopes to educate the public about legal issues concerning today’s issues with the criminal justice system.
